2011 council

 

The AEAF is a not-for-profit incorporated association. It receives financial support from the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, and the South Australian Government through Arts SA. The AEAF is also supported by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments. Policy is determined by Council. The AEAF Council comprises nine elected positions (including one position reserved for a representative of tertiary visual arts students) and up to four appointed members who are permanent staff.

Chair, Mary Knights
Director, SASA Gallery, Art, Architecture & Design, University of South Australia. Mary has worked in the contemporary art sector for over fifteen years and has held arts management and curatorial positions in range of organisations in Tasmania, South Australia and West Australia.

 

Deputy Chair, Maria Zagala

Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs, Art Gallery of South Australia and Affiliate Lecturer in Art History at the University of Adelaide.

 

Troy-Anthony Bayliss
Visual artist and lecturer in Social and Cultural studies in the David Unaipon College of Indigenous Education and Research, UniSA, and a PhD candidate at AAD, UniSA. He has demonstrated experience with a number of incorporated and not-for-profit organisations and a commitment to equitable, ethical and strategic practice to advance opportunities for artists. Currently, Chair of Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute.

 

Teresa Crea
Writer and director focussing on cross-platform and interdisciplinary art practices. She has substantial experience with strategic, financial and organisational management demonstrated through her track record in key roles in performing arts organisations

 

Anton Hart
Established SA sculptor and lecturer, AAD, UniSA. Anton has a substantial studio based art practice, with a strong exhibition record and work held in key public collections such as the Art Gallery of South Australia, Art Bank in Sydney, the Royal Melbourne Institute and the Adelaide Festival Centre. He has completed a number of public art commissions and lectures at AAD, UniSA.

 

Matthew Huppatz (Elected Student Representative)
Student representative, highly regarded emerging SA artist and PhD candidate, AAD, UniSA. Matthew is a very active member of the arts sector, including being a member of the FELTSpace Directorial Committee.

 

Lee Salamone
SA artist with a 20 year practice who divides his time between Adelaide and Berlin and exhibits in Australia and internationally. Lee has a long standing multidisciplinary practice that ranges from projects involving drawing and sculpture, to performance, photography and text. He has co-ordinated art projects, taught at schools and worked at the Venice Biennale.
